“Mike
Our researcher spiked 9.5 Liters of tap water with E. coli to a final target concentration of 4.1 Log10 colony forming units per ml of water (this would be considered heavily contaminated water). He pulled off an aliquot (25 ml) and then treated the water as per your protocol for 4 min. He then tested the original aliquot and two aliquots of iodine-bubble treated water. The untreated aliquot had 4.95 Log10 colony forming units (i.e., the E. coli was perfectly fine after being dumped into tap water) while he recovered ZERO E. coli from the treated aliquots.”
